Pomegranate Collegiate began the spring of 2008 with the launch of the University of Kentucky’s Official Plaid collection. Students from the UK College of Agriculture School of Human Environmental Science’s Department of Merchandising, Apparel and Textiles (MAT) designed the Official UK PLAID. In the spring of 2008, over 12,000 UK students, fans, alumni and friends voted online to select the winning plaid. CLICK HERE to read more about the University of Kentucky’s Plaid Project.

With the widespread success of the UK Plaid collection, Angela Beck, founder of Pomegranate Inc. saw an opportunity to expand into the collegiate marketplace.  In 2010, Pomegranate Inc. acquired the license to manufacture and distribute official plaid collections for the University of Florida, University of Georgia and officially licensed collections for Kansas University and Louisiana State University.  These collections will be available in stores and online in the fall of 2011.

In addition to the official plaid collections, Pomegranate Collegiate offers unique collections for the University of Alabama and Tennessee.  The Alabama Paisley collection includes the same quality totes and accessories with crimson paisley design.
